Who Left the Door Open?: 7/2000, pencil. Amur-Iraklion as a 'taur and Max as a bug-thing. I drew them (breaking a long dry spell) during lunch, and finished them at my DrummerBoy's house. Tezcatlipoca: 1995, Pen and colored pencil on toned paper. This was one of 5 pieces for my senior thesis; he's "J for Jaguar-Man", based on Olmec and Aztec MesoAmerican mythologies concerning the melding of divine jaguars with humans. He's also known as Tepeyolotli, or "Heart of the Mountain". Featuring 2 Olmec were-jaguar mosaic masks, an Aztec jaguar sculpture used for blood-offerings, and an Olmec werejaguar/"Crying Baby" figure. ....i'll be quiet now....
