Shepard_seek shepard_seek.jpg   Shawntae Howard (Tamar the Ebony Leopard)   02/26/2003   267x700

Another human/morph team. One of my favorites, Shepard based off on of my first superhero characters and his albino/blind German Shepard Seek. Copyright Shawntae Howard.

Pokiepoke pokiepoke.jpg   Amy Pronovost (Amara)   02/26/2003   600x399

My scanner mangles markers. The colours are much better in the original. Amara and a Pseudorealistic Amara. It just isn't the same :)

Syn-ybobtailfinal syn-ybobtailfinal.jpg   S. M. Bittler (Synnabar)   02/26/2003   471x648

Japanese Bobtail: my half of a (long overdue) trade with Starfallz. She asked for "something Japanese", and I wanted to try something different, so I went for a very stylized, graphic, almost cut-paper-like look, and took many liberties with the clothing, etc. I wanted a bit of the paper to show through, too. The cleavage wasn't done to be "sexy"; I liked the white space of her chest, but it looked too empty otherwise. Gouache and colored pencil on toned paper.

Syn-ydustmeat syn-ydustmeat.jpg   S. M. Bittler (Synnabar)   02/26/2003   483x648

For Meg Giles! I love her prehistoric cats, and had been reading a great book with new theories on prehistoric big cat reconstruction (calling for a longer, more leonine face) so I drew Meg as such - but with her tiger colors (I still love the "classic style" smilodons too, though). *sigh* SO many people I want/need to do gift art for, still... Pencil, parchment background, color in Photoshop 7.

Syn-ykareenadtl syn-ykareenadtl.jpg   S. M. Bittler (Synnabar)   02/26/2003   424x504

DemonDreamer's Kareena: a detail of the mask, which was VERY fun to paint. Gouache on black illustration board.

Syn-ykareenang syn-ykareenang.jpg   S. M. Bittler (Synnabar)   02/26/2003   707x604

Kareena, property of the fantastic DemonDreamer at the VCL (see her archive there for a description of the character). She's a brown-hyena-like creature with one glass eye and one real one, and I drew her as more human than my usual (thus, longer fingers & legs, etc.). Thanks to Nat G. for her image-adjustment tips! Gouache on black illustration board, slightly smaller than 8-1/2" x 11".

Syn-yswiftred syn-yswiftred.jpg   S. M. Bittler (Synnabar)   02/26/2003   594x490

Swiftred! I drew her as a more quadrupedal werewolf - still looks a bit feline, though. All details and ornamentation per description; drawn in the Fall of 2002. (Swiftred - THANK YOU! Do you want this in color?) Pencil on cardstock.

Featherwarrior featherwarrior.jpg   Amber Hill (Vantid)   02/26/2003   556x784

In my opinion, final fantasy character designs are SO cluttered and over the top. Not all of them of course but a lot. Well,I wanted to do something like that...I wanted to make a character with a hodge podge of make no sense accessories and no sense of culture. The feather is a weapon. Ultra paper cut of doooom! :3 He looks kinda feminie doesnt he? Ink in a friend's sketchbook.

Greenity greenity.jpg   Amber Hill (Vantid)   02/26/2003   541x652

A color prelim for a futire piece. She is about to plant the seedling into the womb of earth within the ring of stones.

Neoecco neoecco.jpg   Amber Hill (Vantid)   02/26/2003   964x544

"Flora and Fauna" My half of a trade with the amazing Neoecco. This is her Stargazer character, a race of fling 'phins. I tried to symbolize the connection to terra with the plants. Some of the plants are real, others are not. Prismacolors and white gel pen on Canson, color Moonstone.

Weresquirrel weresquirrel.jpg   Amber Hill (Vantid)   02/26/2003   700x546

"Weresquirrel" Food for werewolf and wereyote. All manner of graphite in my sketchbook.

Seeingspots seeingspots.jpg   Amy Fennell (Lyosha)   02/26/2003   494x336

Following Amara's example! Here's Ly in realistic and cartoony mode. Uh... with Jedi Ly looking on. At both of them. At the same time. Because she's... special.
